I love that quote, give the children the materials and allow them to be creative ,you know sometimes we'll walk into the construction area and look at a child's creativity and yell, "Oh I like your house" when indeed the child might have built an airport. Sometimes it's best to simply say "tell me what you've made". We cannot see the world only through our lens, but also through the lens of our students
I so agree with your quote sometimes we think because they are small we should point out everything!!! It's no so
